THE AMERICAN CORNHOLE ORGANIZATION WILL HOST ITS SC FESTIVAL AT CAROWINDS IN NOVEMBER

Many World Class Cornhole players will compete for various titles

FORT MILL, SC – The American Cornhole Organization (ACO) will host its South Carolina Major #2, a cornhole tournament at Carowinds Theme Park on November 1 – 2, 2013. Festival times for Friday are 4pm – 10pm. The festival will continue on Saturday from 8:30am – 11pm.

The ACO South Carolina Major is a cornhole festival that will feature game challenges, Luck of the Draw tournaments, and ACO members’ only World Ranking Points singles and doubles tournaments. The Luck of the Draw tournaments and game challenges are pay as you go activities that are open to the public.

ACO officials expect to have 300 people in attendance for the first-ever American Cornhole Organization South Carolina Major held in York County, SC. The Rock Hill/York County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has secured the cornhole event for two consecutive years.

“We’re glad to bring the American Cornhole event to town as a new sports market to showcase the variety of facilities and attractions that we have here in York County and the flexibility of those venues,” says Auvis Cole, sports sales manager for the Rock Hill/York County CVB.

In a series of eight total majors running across the country, this will be the second ACO major for Season IX. Players will come from 9-15 states to try to earn as many world ranking points as possible.

Frank Geers, American Cornhole president, stated that SC resident Danny Blanks and his partner Shane Andrews of NC, who won the ACO World Doubles Championships Season VII, will be competing in this major to bring home the doubles title and defend their home turf. “The event will feature numerous World Class cornhole players,” states Frank Geers. “If you’ve never seen professional cornhole, now is your chance. We think you’ll be surprised at how entertaining watching a few of these great matches can be.”

The event is free and open to the public. There are local, regional and national opportunities to become a sponsor with the ACO.
