WORLDS XI SCHEDULE & FORMAT

There will be a daily itinerary created and available at the front desk at the Holiday Inn, posted on Facebook, posted on the ACO Website Worlds page, and available at the Knoxville Convention Center. This will give the players more details regarding each day’s activities and times. We recommend you arrive early.

ACO World Slyder Cup

  • Guidelines:
    • 5-7 players per team
    • Maximum of two ACO-PRO players per team. Click here to view the list of ACO-PRO players that will be referenced
  • Format:
    • Double elimination Championship bracket
      • * Based on participation, pool play may be used to qualify into the Championship bracket
    • A match consists of 3 games: 1 Singles Game and 2 Doubles games
    • Beginning a match:
      • Cointoss
        1. First, the team who lost the cointoss puts their first team/player on a set of boards, then the winning team puts their team/player to match that first game.
        2. Next, the team who won the cointoss puts their second team/player on a set of boards, then the losing team puts their team/player to match that second game.
        3. Finally, the team who lost the cointoss puts their final team/player on a set of boards, then the winning team puts their team/player to match that final game.
      • The team who won the cointoss pitches first in all 3 games
    • Prizes:
      • Custom Championship Jerseys for up to 5 Members of the winning team
      • 1st Place – $1,500
      • 2nd place – $700
      • 3rd place – $300

RPI Singles (Ranked Players Invitational) –The Ranked Players Invitational is mini-bracket pool play structured tournaments used to qualify players into the Championship Bracket or Tier Pool play

  • Doors open: 7:00AM
  • Start time: 8:00AM
  • General:
    • Open to all players ranked 65th and over on the ACO World Singles Rankings
      • Players ranked 1-64 bypass the RPI and are placed directly into the Singles Championship bracket
    • You must have a Golden Ticket to participate in the RPI Singles
      • To purchase a Golden Ticket, a player must have qualified by participating in a minimum of 4 points earning tournaments during ACO Season XI.
      • Golden Tickets are limited to the first 750 players who register online
      • All players must purchase their Golden Ticket online on or before July 11th, 2016

        • 1 Golden Ticket covers a player’s participation in Singles and their half of Doubles
      • Format:
        • 64 mini-bracket pools with up to 12 players per
          • Mini-brackets pools will be established and seeded according to the ACO World Singles Rankings
        • Each mini-bracket pool will be a double elimination bracket
        • Based on final finish in the mini-bracket pool, each player will then be placed in their appropriate spot for the next round:
          • 1st place – Advances to World Singles Championship bracket (Saturday)
          • 2nd-4th place – Advances to Tier 2 Pool Play (Thursday Evening)
          • 5th-8th place – Advances to Tier 3 Pool Play (Thursday Evening)
          • 9th-12th place – Advances to Tier 4 Pool Play (Thursday Evening)
            • IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of players advancing to each tier may be adjusted based on final participation. To be finalized at the conclusion of registration.

      • Players may team up for the first time at the Worlds as long as each player on the team has qualified by participating in a minimum of 4 points earning tournaments during ACO Season XI and has obtained their Golden Tickets
    • You must have a Golden Ticket to participate in the RPI Doubles
      • To purchase a Golden Ticket, a player must have qualified by participating in a minimum of 4 points earning tournaments during ACO Season XI.
      • Golden Tickets are limited to the first 750 players who register online

NOTE: The ACO is working on coming up with additional prize money that will allow deeper payouts. This prize money will need to come from additional prize sponsorship revenue. There will be no guarantee but it is highly likely more prize money will be awarded to the top finishers. What the final money purse and exact payouts will be will not be announced until June 30, 2016.
