Monster Energy Drink is the official sponsor for the ACO run World Cornhole Championship scheduled for August 29, 2009 in Cincinnati, OH – Downtown Fountain Square. The event for 2009 will be officially called The Monster World Cornhole Championship with a guaranteed $7,500.00 purse. This event is part of the Tailgate Bash 2009 sponsored by Kroger and benefitting the Easter Seals Work Resource Center.
Only the top players in the CornyForty will be invited to compete, but all cornhole players are welcome as spectators – come see the best the country has to offer. This is the one event that is free of charge to those players making the top sixteen as of August 16, 2009. The last opportunity in live competition before this event to win points towards your CornyForty is July 18, 2009 at any of the TopGun Singles events in Cleveland, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Louisville, Spartanburg, or Virginia Beach.
The payouts are awesome for the players lucky enough to make the cut to compete in the Monster World Cornhole Championship!

Top Four Finish = $625.00
Top Eight Finish = $375.00
Top Sixteen Finish (just for getting invited you get a pay check) = $125.00

THE WINNER WILL BE INVITED TO COMPETE SATURDAY AUGUST 29, 2009 AT THE MONSTER WORLD CORNHOLE CHAMPIONSHIP WHICH IS AN ACO-PRO EVENT WITH A $7,500 GUARANTEED PURSE.

ACO Paid Members but Non-CornyForty Players $40.00 before August 10th / $50.00 between August 10th to August 16th / $60.00 between August 17th to 23rd / $70.00 between August 24 to 27th / $80.00 day of event August 28th
Non ACO Paid Members $50.00 before August 10th / $60.00 between August 10th to August 16th / $70.00 between August 17th to 23rd / $80.00 between August 24 to 27th / $90.00 day of event.
August 28th Tournament will be a single elimination best two of three winner advances loser is free to socialize and play some pick games. Seeding will be based on these criteria in order of significance:
1. All CornyForty Participants will be the top seeds in the tournament and will be seeded based on their current CornyForty standing. For example, the 17th ranked CornyForty participant will be the #1 seed, the 18th ranked CornyForty player would be our #2 seed etc.
2. ACO Members who are non CornyForty participants but have a current SCR score – the higher your SCR the higher your seeding.
3. All participants who don’t fall into category one or two noted above will be seeded through a random luck of the draw process.
PAYOUT WILL BE BASED ON TOTAL PARTICIPATION – 50% PAYOUT
Tournament will be structured as a T2 Tournament for CornyForty Participants 1st Place = 24 points / 2nd Place = 21 Points / Top 4 = 15 points / Top 8 = 9 Points Tournament will be limited to first 128 participants
All participants will receive a free t-shirt if they sign up before August 10th deadline. 100% credits will be issued to any player pre-registering for this event but finds out later he or she made the Sweet Sixteen cut for Fountain Square event August 29th. Special Note to Winner of Event
You will only receive CornyForty points for Friday or Saturdays event – NOT A COMBINATION OF THE TWO – we will award you points based on which event you win the most towards your score
You will enter the Fountain Square contest as the 17th seed – Dark Horse – you will need to play the 16th seed in the first round of the tournament in what will be a play in match in which the winner will advance to play our #1 Seed. You will not receive an ACO-PRO jersey for participation – only our top 16 players will be awarded that honor. You will not receive any money unless you advance to the Final Eight where you are then guaranteed no less than $300.00 If you win the event on Fountain Square you are guaranteed a check for $2,600.00 GOOD LUCK!
