History buffs and art lovers will enjoy the Polk Museum of Art, and flight enthusiasts can’t miss the annual SUN ‘n FUN Fly-in. Hollis Garden, found around the walkway, is a breathtaking formal garden that showcases more than 10,000 flowers and Florida indigenous plants. FULL SCHEDULE & FORMAT

Friday, October 14

  • SLYDER CUP
    • Gates Open: 11:00AM
    • Slyder Cup start: 1:00PM
    • Double Elimination Tournament
    • Individual trophies for first and second place teams
  • SENIORS – WOMENS – JUNIORS
    • Tournaments start: 6:00PM
    • Three (3) Divisions will play Friday evening: Seniors Singles, Womens Singles, and Juniors Singles. These 3 Divisions will be played at the same time, so player can only choose 1
    • Double Elimination
    • Trophy for each division winner
    • Jersey for each winner in a division with 20 or more players
  • BLIND DRAWS AND OPEN PLAY
    • Number of tourneys and specific start times will depend on participation/run times and court availability
    • First Luck of draws expected to start at 5:00PM
    • Open to all players – ACO Membership is not required
    • $5.00 and $10.00 buy ins

Important Notes

  • NO WALK-UPS ANY DIVISIONS
  • REGISTRATION FOR ALL DIVISIONS ENDS 11:59 PM on Monday October 10, 2016
  • Side pot cash buy-ins will be available day of event and will be 100% cash payout day of event
  • Must be ACO Member to participate in Seniors, Womens, Juniors, and/or World Singles/Doubles. Membership is not required to compete in the Slyder Cup. Acquire a Membership from your local ACO Certified Official or purchase day of the Event.
  • NO REFUNDS – TICKETS CAN BE SOLD OR TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER PLAYER

WORLD SINGLES

  • Gates Open at 8:30AM
  • World Singles Division begins at 10:00AM
  • Format:
    – Total number of players competing will be divided evenly into Mini-Bracket Pools
    – Mini-Bracket Pools will be seeded randomly
    – Each Mini-Bracket Pool will play a double elimination bracket – (1) game in the Winner’s, (1) game in the Loser’s
    – The top finishing players from each Mini-Bracket Pool will advance and be placed in the Final Bracket.
    – Each player advancing from Pool will receive 25 ACO World Singles Ranking Points
    – Each player who did not advance from Mini-Bracket Pool will receive ACO Singles World Ranking points according to their finish in the Pool.
    – Final Bracket will be Holebrid Format – (1) game in the Winner’s, (1) game in the Loser’s. Only way to win the tournament is by advancing through the winners bracket. Best placement from Losers bracket is third place.
    – Players in the Final Bracket will be competing for additional ACO Singles World Ranking Points
  • Prizes:
    – All players will receive ACO World Ranking points based on finish
  • Trophies
    – Side-pot buy-in will be available with 100% payout
