A Proclamation of American Cornhole Organization World Cornhole Day

WHEREAS, The American Cornhole Organization, more commonly known worldwide as the ACO is celebrating its 15th World Championships in Columbia, South Carolina in July, 2020; and

WHEREAS, The American Cornhole Organization was established by Frank Geers and his team of visionaries in 2005 in Milford Ohio as the worldwide governing body for the sport of cornhole; sanctioning official rules, standardizing and developing products for gameplay and creating the world’s first officially recognized leagues, tournaments and World Championships; and

WHEREAS, The American Cornhole Organization has elevated the sport of cornhole to international prominence via inclusion, innovation and multimedia exposure around the globe; and

WHEREAS, The American Cornhole Organization has for fifteen consecutive years crowned the World’s Best Players as King or Queen of Cornhole; and

WHEREAS, these World Championships XV in Columbia, South Carolina mark the continuation of this first-of-its-kind cornhole tradition by The American Cornhole Organization, celebrating ALL cornhole players around the world.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Stephen K. Benjamin, Mayor of the City of Columbia, South Carolina, do hereby proclaim July 25th, and every subsequent final Saturday in the month of July each year as

American Cornhole Organization WORLD CORNHOLE DAY

in the great City of Columbia and urge my fellow citizens to recognize and participate In its many accomplishments.
