ACO Tournament & Event Chooser
From casual spectator… to backyard player… to weekend competitor… to ACO PRO, here are the ACO Tournaments and Events you should be focusing on.
I'm not interested in playing competitively at all, but love the ACO family scene, love watching, and wouldn't mind throwing a few bags once in a while too.
As a spectator and occasional tosser, you’ll want to go watch the action at:
ACO Festivals
ACO World Championships of Cornhole
ACO Majors
The most fun events are the ACO Festivals and the ACO World Championships of Cornhole. Both have an amazing atmosphere and fun nightlife. Both also offer pickup games and various “Walk-Up” tournaments where you don’t even need an ACO Membership to play. Registration is on-site, typically ending up to a half hour before the fun begins.
These walk-up tournaments include the Big Blind Draw Doubles, and the BYOP (Bring Your Own Player) Quads. Both games feature a 50% Prize Payout.
At ACO Festivals, you’ll always get to meet ACO PROs and watch some killer cornhole action in a relaxed party (but always family-friendly) atmosphere.
You can also come to Majors, where a lot of fun and Walk-Up tournaments are happen too. Check the Majors schedules for exact times.
I want to play Cornhole occasionally for fun, but more serious than just backyard play. I want to gain World Ranking Points but I'm not interested in travelling or competing at Worlds.
The tournaments for you are:
You’ll also want to become an ACO Member if you’re not already, since you need Membership to play in anything other than “Walk-Up” games at ACO tournaments.
Regionals are smaller local tournaments where you still earn World Ranking Points (get nationally ranked with the ACO). It’s a good way to get your feet wet in the shallow end and improve your game, since you’ll sometimes be playing against a few Pro level players.
When the cornhole addiction starts to set in, you can move on to the larger ACO Majors to get a taste of more competitive play!
Festivals are always a great time too, since you’ll always get to meet ACO PROs and watch some killer cornhole action in a relaxed party (but always family-friendly) atmosphere.
I'm really trying to improve my game, I think I can start earning some prize money, and I hope to qualify to compete at ACO Worlds soon.
The Tournaments for you are:
ACO Regionals
ACO Majors
ACO Worlds
Your main goal at this point is to improve your game play, and to move up the ACO World Rankings. The best competition you are going to find outside of Worlds is at ACO Majors, so that’s where your game really improves.
To make it to Worlds, you must have played in at least 5 tournaments (ACO Majors or ACO Regionals) in Singles Division during the year-long ACO Season. That puts you into the “RPI” (Ranked Players Invitational) qualifiers at Worlds.
I'm an ACO-PRO and want to make it to Worlds, and also win as much prize purse money as possible along the way.
The tournaments for you are:
ACO Majors
ACO PRO Series (for ACO-PROs only)
ACO Worlds
The highest prizes and payouts happen at ACO Majors, the ACO PRO Series, and Worlds. If you’re serious about making money playing cornhole, and want to become and ACO-PRO, then you need to focus on these.
