Make money promoting cornhole!

Are you a competitor, a venue owner, or just a person who loves the sport of Cornhole and wants to see it grow? Are you already running Cornhole tournaments or leagues? American Cornhole, the ACO is the company taking this backyard game and turning it into a recognizable sport both nationally and internationally. Over the past several years American Cornhole has worked extremely hard to develop the ACO Certified Official Program. This program is comprised of a network of passionate men and women around the country who have helped build awareness of Cornhole and the ACO in their local markets. We have focused on creating tools that help the Certified Officials make the most of their opportunity. At the end of the day if our Certified Officials are successful, the ACO will be successful!

ACO World Championships of Cornhole Kickoff Party to be at Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport

American Cornhole begins the ACO World Championships of Cornhole week with a kickoff party at the Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport and is inviting the public.

“We wanted to give the public a chance to mingle with cornhole enthusiasts, and maybe meet an ACO Pro,” said Frank Geers, President of the ACO.

More than 17 States are represented in the week long tournament to be held at Turfway Park in Florence, KY. – a fully enclosed facility. The championship event is like a festival of events with social players and professional players competing for various titles and a shot at $10,000 in prize monies.

This year’s event promises to be even bigger as Kenny Mayne is bringing his ESPN “Wider World of Sports” to town to shoot much of the event. Mayne will play in the Open tournament held Thursday July 18th to earn one of the 64 spots in the King of Cornhole.

All ACO World Championships events are held at Turfway Park, Florence, KY July 17th-20th. Public is invited and admission is free. The kick off party is from 6:00pm-10:00pm July 16th at the Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport 1717 Airport Exchange Blvd, Erlanger. Kentucky 41018

ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII to Include ESPN’s Kenny Mayne and “Wider World of Sports”

Will Kenny Mayne become the ACO King of Cornhole?

“Kenny Mayne’s Wider World of Sports” explores sports that are among the most important and unique to the people of various countries around the world. Mayne has traveled to Brazil, New Zealand, South Africa and now will make his way to Florence, Ky., for the ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII held at Turfway Park from July 17-20, 2013.

“We’re very excited to have Kenny Mayne and Wider World Of Sports part of the ACO World Championships of Cornhole,” said Frank Geers, Founder and President of the ACO. “It’s amazing exposure for the sport we and so many others love.”

Kenny-Mayne-WWOS-logoIn addition to covering the event, Mayne will attempt to earn a spot in the 64-person King of Cornhole tournament and compete for the title of the best cornhole player in the world, the ACO King of Cornhole. His chase for the crown will start in the Open Singles tournament on Thursday, July 18th.

“The journey started with a Cincinnati television show back in 2006 and now we’re talking about ESPN’s Kenny Mayne’s Wider World of Sports. Obviously, this is very exciting,” said Matt Gray, Founder of the King of Cornhole and VP of TV/Media Development for the ACO. “But more importantly, I feel this show will be an incredible opportunity for others to share their passion for cornhole.”

Remke bigg’s and American Cornhole agree to offer ACO cornhole bags

Remke bigg’s will be the preferred retail provider for American Cornhole bags in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky.

American Cornhole Organization has launched an initiative to provide cornhole bags throughout the thirteen stores of the Remke bigg’s grocery chain. There will be two bag options available at the stores. The ACO Traditional canvas bags and the ACO Tailgator bags assembled using two fabrics, canvas and suede. The bags also offer a longer life by incorporating resin-fill versus corn-fill. The resin-fill is moisture resistant. Bags can get wet without concern and allow customers to easily store the bags without molding or breaking down. The stores will have sample bags on display for comparison and both offerings will be provided in the ACO colors of red and blue.

The ACO cornhole bags are in stores now just in time for Father’s Day and all the fourth of July celebrations. Look in the summer aisles, toy areas or near your favorite beverages to get your set of hometown made cornhole bags.

Booth Sponsorships available at ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII

American Cornhole is offering space for vendors and partners to secure space at the ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII held at Turfway Park July 17-20, 2013. Vendors and partners will have the opportunity to display their products and/or services to the participants attending the event. This year’s event is expecting 400-700 attendees daily over the four day stretch.

Sponsorship is $500 and includes 10’x10′ booth space, a table and chair, one-quarter page ad in the event program and a choice of either a Golden Ticket or Corporate Team entry. Turfway Park announced as site of ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII

American Cornhole Organization has selected Turfway Park in Florence, Ky., as host site for the eighth annual World Championships of Cornhole, set for July 17-20, 2013.

“It’s exciting to be back at Turfway Park for another premier event. Turfway Park last held an ACO event in 2010. We are familiar with the property and believe it will offer our players and spectators a unique experience,” said ACO president Frank Geers.

The ACO World Championships of Cornhole has grown from 64 participants in the inaugural competition to more than 250 last year. With the addition of the ACO Corporate Cup, an exclusive competition for companies in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, the number of competitors this year could reach nearly 400.

Prize purses have also increased from $2,000 the first year to now more than $10,000 guaranteed. Entry fees contribute to purses; based on participation, this year’s ACO Worlds could offer purses as high as $50,000.

The tournament is open to anyone interested in participating. The individual entry fee for participation in singles and/or doubles tournaments throughout the competition, called the Golden Ticket, ranges from $100 to $300. Ticket pricing tiers are based on available stock and add to a growing purse. World Championship hopefuls can learn more about the event and secure tickets here.

Spectators are welcome and admitted free of charge. The tournaments start each day at 10 a.m. and will conclude at 11p.m. Each day offers a variety of singles and doubles competitions.

Turfway Park is located at 7500 Turfway Rd., I-75 at Exit 182 in Florence, Kentucky. ACO celebrates Independence Day with City of Fort Thomas

American Cornhole Organization Announces ACO Worlds Qualifier Tournament

The Independence Day celebration at Fort Thomas Tower Park has been a staple in Northern Kentucky for years. This year’s celebration will include a Classic Car Show, kids’ events, a concert with Soul Pocket along with an American Cornhole qualifier tournament. Another unique and special activity added this year will be the addition of a quilt show. This celebration unites a community of families and celebrates the independence of our country. The evening will conclude with an exciting display of fireworks which the community looks forward to every year.

This will be the second year American Cornhole and City of Fort Thomas will hold a cornhole tournament event. This tournament will feature a 70% payout from registration up to a cap of $2,000 paid out to the top eight teams. Entry will be $30 for a team of two people. Participants will be placed into a round robin with top teams advancing into a single elimination tournament. The winning team will also receive a Golden Ticket package entry into the ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII taking place July 17-20, 2013 at Turfway Park in Florence, KY.

Cornhole is a game in which players take turns tossing one pound bags at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. This game originated in backyards and has elevated to nationally organized tournaments and leagues. ACO Announces DerbyHole Classic

ACO-Cornhole-DerbyHoleThe ACO DerbyHole Classic returns to Louisville, KY on April 27, 2013.

The tournament is limited field to the first forty teams to register online. Team entry is $20 and teams are guaranteed four games. The top team wins two Golden Tickets ($500 value) into the ACO World Championships of Cornhole VIII at Cincinnati, OH from July 16th-20th. Second place wins entry into the ACO Knoxville Open tournament on May 18, 2013 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
